Create and execute initiatives and projects that aid in partnership between the Akwa Ibom State government (AKSG) and its diaspora community. The state government can be defined as person designated to make and enforce laws for AKS and could include government officials on a local level including Paramount rulers, village representatives, government functionaries, political stalwarts, men and women groups, youth groups, union leaders, and other designees.

Act as the primary office for flow of information to the diaspora on matters involving and relevant to Akwa Ibom State.

Create and maintain a social media and Internet presence to:

• Ensure that individuals in the diaspora can contact the Office, become aware of its aims and objectives, services provided, upcoming events, etc…

• Engage potential investors

• Provide fact-based information on the Akwa Ibom State government's initiatives and accomplishments to the international community

Identify then mobilize Akwa Ibom indigenes residing overseas to inspire them to contribute to the growth of the state. This approach includes:

• Leveraging social media platforms

• Attending and speaking at events with a large concentration of Akwa Ibom people

• Developing sophisticated communication channels

• Organizing strategic events to connect with the Diaspora community

Develop a standardized how to guide for investors seeking to invest in existing or burgeoning industries in the state.

Organize trade & investment fairs and business conferences to link diaspora investors and entrepreneurs interested in conducting business in AKS.

Provide information, guidance and support to the diaspora community, organizations, and private sector companies who desire to invest in AKS. This may include but is not limited to:
• Vetting and determining prospective investors then facilitating investment deals

• Collaborating between Diaspora communities, the private sector and the AKSG

• Creating and publishing diaspora-friendly rules for business and investors

• Training potential investors on business-friendly practices in AKS which includes an A-Z guideline on topics such as how to start a business, investments processes, tourism, land/property purchase, humanitarian, and philanthropic pursuits

• Matching and linking diaspora ideas and concepts to AKSG initiatives

Provide support for diaspora interests by familiarizing the AKSG with the Diaspora community and advocate for their desires. Such activities will involve presenting the wishes of Diaspora communities to international organizations and in government forums.

Organize a volunteer corp. The Office will partner with the Diaspora community to draw from the rich well of its social consciousness and obligation to give back. A volunteer corps program will allow for skills transfer and community service opportunities at local businesses, state institutions and community groups.

Enhance tourism in AKS, which will help leverage the Diaspora communities' resources and networks. The Office of the SSA (Diaspora Matters) will partner with relevant state ministries to increase tourism, cultural events, and encourage businesspeople in the diaspora interested in investing in the tourism industry.

Compile a professional directory with a proper compilation of information that outlines Akwa Ibom indigenes in the diaspora including name, contact information, and areas of vocational expertise. This will reflect recent data on the global growth of Akwa Ibomites in all industries and can be used by the AKSG when sourcing for professional services.

Enhance educational and cultural interactions. The Office of the SSA (Diaspora Matters) will increase academic and cultural exchanges between Diaspora communities and AKS. The Office will encourage student engagement by promoting educational and cultural events which display the unique greatness in various areas of Akwa Ibom State. This will be administered in collaboration with cultural groups and relevant Akwa Ibom State ministries.
