SSA, DIASPORA MATTERS AND AKWA IBOM STATE DIASPORA FOCAL POINT OFFICER

In July 2023, Ms. Linda Umoh was appointed the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Diaspora Matters. As a representative of Akwa Ibom State in the Diaspora, she is responsible for coordinating and managing the state's diaspora affairs with multiple stakeholders, prospective investors, multi-national companies, government agencies and groups. As a trusted advisor with active engagement amongst Akwa Ibom indigenes living abroad, she also coordinates sensitive projects among humanitarian and philanthropic organizations.

VISION STATEMENT

To foster a globally engaged Akwa Ibom diaspora community that actively contributes to the economic, cultural, and social development of Akwa Ibom State through strategic partnerships, impactful initiatives, and sustainable investments.

MISSION STATEMENT

To act as a strategic bridge between the Akwa Ibom State Government and its diaspora community by:

  1. Facilitating impactful partnerships, fostering investments, and supporting diaspora-led initiatives for state development.
  2. Creating accessible platforms for communication, collaboration, and knowledge exchange between the diaspora and Akwa Ibom State.
  3. Empowering the diaspora community with resources, guidance, and opportunities to contribute to business growth, tourism, education, and cultural promotion in Akwa Ibom.
  4. Building sustainable frameworks, including mentorship programs, trade fairs, and professional directories, that harness the skills, networks, and aspirations of Akwa Ibom indigenes worldwide.
