… As Dallas set to host four-day summit, cultural showcase August 6–9

The President of the AKISAN Dallas Metro Chapter, Mr. Richard Eyo, has assured that the 39th Annual National Convention of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA Inc. (AKISAN) will provide a rewarding platform for Akwa Ibom indigenes in the diaspora to deepen relationships, exchange ideas and explore new opportunities for the development of their homeland.
Speaking ahead of the convention, which will hold from August 6 to 9, 2026, at the Hilton Anatole, Dallas, Texas, Eyo said the annual gathering goes beyond social interactions, describing it as a meeting where professionals, entrepreneurs, young people and community leaders collectively chart practical pathways for advancing Akwa Ibom and strengthening the association.
The renowned cybersecurity expert, who also serves as Speaker of the AKISAN Council of Chapter Presidents, said this year’s convention, hosted by the Dallas Metro Chapter, would focus on the theme, “Unleashing Our Full Potential: Transforming AKISAN Together for a Brighter Future,” noting that the choice reflects the association’s determination to build a stronger and more impactful organisation.
According to him, participants will have the opportunity to engage accomplished Akwa Ibom sons and daughters who have distinguished themselves across various professions in the United States, while also interacting with stakeholders from home to exchange ideas capable of creating lasting value for the state and its people.
Eyo, who is also the Chairman, Planning Committee explained that the convention has been carefully designed to feature thought-provoking summits, transformational discussions, networking sessions and strategic conversations that will encourage greater collaboration among members, while inspiring the next generation of Akwa Ibom professionals in the diaspora.
He added that the event would equally celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Akwa Ibom through colourful displays, while providing children and youths with activities deliberately planned to strengthen their identity and connection with their roots.
The Dallas Chapter President further disclosed that one of the major expectations of the convention is to mobilise record support for humanitarian projects and community development initiatives championed by AKISAN, saying the association has continued to demonstrate that collective action can produce meaningful change both in the diaspora and back home.
The host commended the National President of AKISAN USA, Engr. (Dr.) Mbong Ekiko, for providing purposeful leadership that has continued to unite chapters across the United States, expressing confidence that the Dallas convention would further consolidate the association’s vision of service, excellence and sustainable development.
Eyo therefore encouraged Akwa Ibom indigenes across the United States and beyond to take advantage of the convention, describing it as a unique opportunity to build enduring partnerships, reconnect with their heritage and contribute meaningfully to shaping a brighter future for AKISAN and Akwa Ibom State.
