In line with the turnaround maintenance plan of the Ibom Golf and Country Club, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has approved the constitution of a management committee to oversee the activities of golf in Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort.
This is in consonance with the State government’s commitment of making golf a major tourism driver, and Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria’s Premier Golfing destination.
Members of the committee are:
1. Isua Archibong Captain
2. Ubong Uwah Secretary
3. Onofiok Onofiok Competition secretary
4. Asuquo Udoh Treasurer
5. Maryanne Udoka Lady Captain
6. Barr Edidiong Idiong Legal
7. Ekemini Umoh PRO
8. Eno Effiong Member
9. Victor Ebitu Member
10. Nse Willie Member
11. Andy Nkim Member
The Committee’s Responsibilities are as follows:
1. To oversee Golf Operations, ensuring alignment with Akwa Ibom State Government’s vision and strategic plans
2. Manage Golf Related Activities, Events and Services
3. Act as a bridge between members and the Hotel Management/ the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
4. Maintain discipline within the Golf Club.
5. Do all such things for the advancement and promotion of golf in Akwa Ibom State.
The Committee’s tenure is 2 years.
