The Executive Chairman of Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Uno Etim Uno, JP, on Tuesday lauded the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD for supporting his Business Support Scheme for Urue Offong/Oruko women.
The Chairman made the commendation, Tuesday in the Council Hall Urue Offong during the March edition of Urue offong/Oruko Women Prayer Summit.
Speaking through the Vice Chairman, Hon. (Mrs) Arit Ambit, Chief Uno described the Governor as a caring father who loves all his children across the State.
He also thanked his wife, Mrs Elizabeth Etim Uno for sustaining the Women Monthly Prayer Summit, promising to support the prayers as long as he remains the Chairman of Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Area.
The Initiator of the Prayer Summit, Mrs Uno, who read from Psalm 89:18-28 and Psalm 20:1-9, appreciated the Governor and her husband for supporting her and Urue Offong Oruko women, saying that this month’s theme “Securing God’s Help”, has found expression in the life of 60 Urue Offong/Oruko women selected from 33 villages.
Mrs Uno disclosed that each of the women received 50,000 naira as business support grant.
During her exhortation, Pastor (Mrs) Christy Blessed observed that God pays attention when women pray because He is close to the sincere and broken hearted, noting that Urue Offong/Oruko women have been praying since the inception of the present administration in the Local Government Area.
She noted that the result was the presence and the continued help of God which made the business support grant and other dividends possible.
Other notable attendees included the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Sunday Eyo, wife of a former Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Atim Okpoyo, wife a former House of Assembly Member, Mrs Affiong Asukwo Archibong, among others.
