Gov. Umo Eno: Promise Made, Promise Kept
The Akwa Ibom State Government is set to commence screening for payment of the fourth tranche of the Outstanding 7.5% Contributory Pension to beneficiaries in nine more Local Education Authorities (LEAs) in the State.
According to a Public Service Announcement signed by the Head of Civil Service of Akwa Ibom State, and dated 14th May, 2025, the screening exercise will commence on Monday, 19th May, 2025.
The nine Local Education Authorities (LEAs), concerned in the current tranche include, Essien Udim, Etim Ekpo, Ikono, Ikot Abasi, Nsit Atai, Oron, Mbo, Nsit Ibom, and Uruan LEAs.
The announcement has directed beneficiaries from Essien Udim Local Education Authority to report at St. Charles Catholic School, Uwa West, Essien Udim Local Government Area, beneficiaries from Etim Ekpo Local Education Authority (LEA) will be screened at Northern Annang Secondary Commercial School, Utu Etim Ekpo, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, while those from Ikono LEA will be screened at Methodist School, Nung Ukim, Ikono Local Government Area.
Still on Monday, 19th May, 2025, beneficiaries from Ikot Abasi Local Education Authority will be screened at Okpum Okon Comprehensive Secondary School, Okon Town, Ikot Abasi Local Government Area. Beneficiaries from Nsit Atai LEA will be screened at Central School, Odot, Nsit Atai Local Government Area while those from Oron LEA are to report at Government School, Iquita, Oron Local Government Area from 9 o’clock in the morning.
The announcement further indicates that the exercise which will continue on Tuesday, 20th May, 2025 will be the turn of beneficiaries from Mbo Local Education Authority (LEA) where they are directed to report at St. Peter RCM School, Uko Akpan Ewang in Mbo Local Government Area for the exercise.
Similarly, beneficiaries from Nsit Ibom LEA are invited to report at Nsit People Grammar School, Afaha Offiong, along Nung Udoe/Afaha Nsit Road and those from Uruan LEA are to report at Comprehensive High School, Idu Uruan, Uruan Local Government Area on the same time.
In another development, Next-of-Kin of deceased beneficiaries of the Outstanding 7.5% Contributory Pension from Itu, Eket, and Abak LEAs have been invited to appear for final clearance and refund of the fund due their deceased relations on Wednesday, 21st May, 2025 at Akpan Isemin Hall, Government House, Uyo by 10 o’clock in the morning.
The affected Next-of-Kins are to report at the venue with all service documents of their deceased beneficiaries, Letter of Administration, and other means of identification.
Beneficiaries from other LEAs yet to be scheduled for the screening, according to the announcement have been requested to wait for their turn.
