Nigeria Congratulates Chad On Independence Anniversary

The Federal Government has congratulated the government and people of Chad on the country’s independence anniversary, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between both countries.
 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, said Nigeria and Chad shared “deep historical and cultural ties” as well as strong bonds of friendship, good neighbourliness and cooperation.
 
Nigeria said it valued its enduring partnership with Chad and its shared commitment to peace, stability and development as neighbouring countries and members of the African community.
 
“On this significant milestone, Nigeria commends Chad’s resilience and its continued efforts towards national development, peace, and stability,” the ministry said.

It reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Chad, particularly in trade, security, education and regional cooperation.
 
According to the ministry, such cooperation would be pursued for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries.
 
The government also said it looked forward to deeper collaboration with Chad in regional and international organisations, including the African Union and the United Nations.
 
It said the collaboration would help both countries advance their shared goals of “peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.”
 
Nigeria further joined the government and people of Chad in celebrating the anniversary in the spirit of friendship, unity and solidarity.
 
“Once again, Nigeria extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Republic of Chad, and wishes the nation continued progress, peace and prosperity as the enduring spirit of independence continue to inspire its people and national development,” the statement said.
