Nigerian hacks UK woman’s accounts, sells intimate photos

A Nigerian man, Bosun Osagie, has been sentenced to two years and three months in prison for hacking into a woman’s social media accounts and blackmailing her in the United Kingdom.

Osagie was jailed on Monday after pleading guilty to hacking the Snapchat and X accounts of the woman in Wirral.

A statement by Merseyside Police on Tuesday stated that the 25-year-old Nigerian hacked the woman’s accounts and used her photos to set up fake accounts.

“It was further reported that the fake accounts were used to solicit her as a sex worker and her images were being sold online and she was subsequently blackmailed,” the statement added.

Osagie, a resident of Hartslock Drive in Bexley, London, was arrested and charged after the victims reported him in February 2023.

Following extensive enquiries at an earlier court hearing, Osagie pleaded guilty to computer hacking and blackmail.

Aside from his jail term, the court slammed a 10-year restraining order on him to not contact the victim
