NTO IDE-IKOT AMBA BRIDGE/APPROACH ROAD PROJECT

PROJECT DETAILS:

– 60 meters span reinforced concrete bridge with 23m depth and 450tons capacity
– 800 meters approach road
– 2 culverts to channel runoff water
– Trapezoidal V-drains along the full length of the project to remove water from the road surface
– Stone-pitching on both sides of the road to protect the sides of the raised portion of the road
– Erosion control mechanisms to reinforce the durability of the road project

PROJECT HISTORY:

– Initiated by former Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2021
– Awarded to Seyang Nigeria Limited, an indigenous company
– Met at 60% Phase but Completed in less than one year by Governor Umo Eno
– Part of the ARISE Agenda’s rural development drive

IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY:

– Connects Ikot Amba with Nto Ide
– Replaces old, decayed makeshift bridges that caused losses for users
