Alberta is a province in western Canada known for its vast oil sands, the Rocky Mountains, and vibrant cities like Calgary and Edmonton. It’s one of Canada’s wealthiest provinces due to its significant oil and gas reserves. In addition to oil and gas, Alberta’s economy also benefits from the agriculture, forestry, tourism, and technology sectors.
Alberta’s economy is considered the economic engine of Canada, and the province is known for its business-friendly policies and skilled workforce.
The politics of Alberta are centred on a provincial government resembling that of the other Canadian provinces, namely a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy. The capital of the province is Edmonton, where the provincial Legislative Building is located.
With the reforms and proactive policy thrust in critical sectors of the Akwa Ibom State economy by Governor Umo Eno’s administration, Hon. Linda Akon Umoh looks forward to an intense engagement with the Edmonton AKISAN chapter by building diaspora trust and mobilization of resources for homeland development.
From now on, the Akwa Ibom State Directorate on Diaspora Matters headed by Hon. Linda Akon Umoh seeks to engage with the Alberta province Members of the Legislative Assembly on advisory inputs on business ethics and governance that will greatly contribute to the inflow of foreign direct investments with justification on similar economic opportunities both region shares.
