In a media chat of Mrs. Eno Udo-aka, Business Development Manager of Polaris Bank Uyo branch who was among great sons and daughters of mkpat enin local government area that participated in the Mkpat Enin cultural day at the Christmas Unplugged 2.0, was full of praise for the Akwa-Ibom first lady who passed away on 26th September 2024 in a London hospital during intensive medical care.
The seasoned bank professional couldn’t hold her emotions on the cultural display experience with her kinsmen and the organization of the Mkpat Enin local government chairman, Hon. Engr. Emmanuel John Inyang. She reflected on the events of Christmas Unplugged 1.0 which had the late first lady of Akwa Ibom State in attendance at the mkpat enin cultural day. It was a day that made Her Excellency to mesmerize on the ‘mbopo’ cultural display during her adolescent years. This gave the impetus for greater participation and involvement of the mkpat enin women in this year Christmas Unplugged 2.0.
For mkpat enin people the dance movements and agriculture exhibition is more than a cultural heritage display but a solidarity movement for a great woman of worth who was pragmatic towards the sociocultural and socio economic development of Mkpat Enin local government area, and her commitment to financial inclusion of women farmers in rural communities.
In her words of Mrs. Udo-aka:…”the late wife of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno lived a life of service to humanity through community development, and this is evident at commissioning of a resuscitated 12,000 – litre water project in Ibiaku village, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area…. this project was undertaken by her pet project, the Golden Initiative for All (GIFA)”.
Mrs. Eno Udo-aka reassure that the women of Mkpat Enin will on immortalize the late first lady enduring legacies in every possible ways. She believes the late first lady younger brother who has been elected in office as Executive Chairman by the good people of Mkpat Enin local government area will do his best to translate the late first lady vision of sustainable development for the people of Mkpat Enin in his administration.
