Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Wednesday received the Ambassador of Japan to Nigeria, H.E. Suzuki Hideo, in a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina, marking another step in deepening diplomatic and economic relations between Lagos and Japan.

The visit, which underscored the growing bilateral ties between Africa’s largest city and one of Asia’s foremost economies, saw Governor Sanwo-Olu present the Ambassador with an Eyo plaque — a symbolic gesture of Lagos’ rich cultural heritage and a mark of distinguished honour extended to esteemed guests of the state.

Ambassador Suzuki was accompanied by First Secretary for Economic and Development Cooperation, Ms. Mori Natsuko, and Economic/Development Cooperation Assistant, Mr. Oluwatimileyin Ajibode. Also present on the Lagos side was the SSA to the President on Foreign Affairs and Protocol, Mr. Ademola Oshodi.

The courtesy call provided both parties an opportunity to explore areas of mutual interest, particularly around economic cooperation, infrastructure development, and investment opportunities that could further strengthen the Lagos-Japan partnership.
