… as Gov Eno receives Oriental Energy, commits to partnership
The Executive Chairman of Oriental Energy, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi OFR, has declared that Akwa Ibom State remains the best State for investments given the peace and security across the State and the hospitable nature of its citizenry.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by management of Oriental Energy to the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD at Government House, Uyo, he noted that they have been in the State for many years without any issues.
He said Akwa Ibom has given them a conducive atmosphere to operate, and commended their hosts communities for creating an enabling environment for the company to thrive.
Alhaji Indimi enumerated some of impactful Corporate Social Responsibility programmes of his company and assured that the company was willing to partner with the State in different areas of development.
Similarly, the Executive Vice Chairman, Engr. Goni Musa Sheikh noted that their area of primary operation is Akwa Ibom State adding that they have been living peacefully in the State for many years.
He also recalled CSR projects in the communities including scholarships, medical support, and commended the host communities for their uncommon cooperation.
In his remarks, the Governor appreciated the Executive Chairman, Alhaji Indimi and the members of his team for their visit, and expressed Government’s readiness to partner with the oil company to actualize the administration’s agenda.
“Choosing to come to see us as Government is very homely, and we really appreciate this. We know your company has been here in the State, and we will continue to work with you to ensure that we have that mutual benefit for your company, the State, and the people of Akwa Ibom State,” he noted.
“The synergy between your company and other upcoming oil companies in our State is really heartwarming. As a State, we are poised to partner more with your organization and others for our overall good,” he added.
Governor Eno urged the oil company as well as others to avail themselves of the State Government’s 21-storey smart building, the Udom Emmanuel Towers, saying it would comfortably serve as their administrative headquarters in Uyo for closer and easier collaborative work with the State Government.
The Governor enjoined Oriental Energy to employ indigenes of the state and train them to adequately contribute their quota to better the lot of the company and the State.
He commended Oriental Energy for its generous contribution to the State Security Trust Fund and encouraged the company to open shop in the State, assuring of a peaceful operational environment.
