The State Health Insurance Agency has trained Medical Superintendents, Medical Directors, and Desk Officers of Public and Private Secondary Health Care facilities across the 31 LGAS of the State.
The training on the State health insurance scheme and ICT Software portal operations was impactful as participants gained insight into the operations of the state health insurance Scheme. This will go a long way to ensuring the provision of financial access to care across the 31 LGAs of the State in fulfilling the ARISE Agenda of His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, PhD.
The training was declared open by the Executive Secretary, Dr Igbemi Arthur Igbemi who told the participants that they are key stakeholders in ensuring the scheme succeeded. Also in the training was the Medical Director of General Hospital, Ikot Ekpene, Dr Nene Andem who informed participants on the success recorded by her facility in the past 3 months where enrollees of the Scheme have benefited from medical and surgical interventions and prompt payment by the Agency for services rendered for free. Dr. Emmanuel Akpanobong of St. Anthanasius Hospital also remarked that the private healthcare providers are ready to partner with the Agency for the success of the Scheme in the State.
