Akwa Ibom at 39: Gratitude, Trust and a Stronger Diaspora Bond

As Akwa Ibom State marks 39 years of statehood, the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Diaspora Matters joins Akwa Ibomites at home and abroad in celebrating this significant milestone.

A Season of Gratitude

This anniversary is, first and foremost, a moment of thanksgiving — to God for His mercies over our dear State, to His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, for his visionary leadership and genuine commitment to diaspora inclusion, and to every Akwa Ibomite whose love and labor continue to build our State.

A Growing Global Family

Over the years, the bond between home and our diaspora community has continued to strengthen — anchored on inclusion, trust, and a shared commitment to development. This growing partnership reflects the deliberate efforts of this administration to ensure that Akwa Ibomites abroad remain connected to, and carried along in, the State’s journey of progress.

A Word to Our Diaspora Community

To every Akwa Ibomite in the diaspora: thank you for staying connected to home and for your continued contribution to the progress of our homeland. Your investments, your voices, and your pride in the Akwa Ibom name remain a source of strength for our State.

Grateful for the journey. United by home. Inspired by the future.

Happy 39th Anniversary, Akwa Ibom State!
