Today, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Gender-Based Violence Response Unit in partnership with the Akwa Ibom State Gender-Based Violence Management Committee held school and market sensitization on gender-based violence.
The team which was led by the Wife of the Transition Chairman of Ikot Ekpene, Mrs. Utibe John, visited Community Commercial Secondary School, Urua Obo and Urua Otor both in Ikot Ekpene, to sensitize students, teachers and market women.
The wife of the TRC Chairman was accompanied by the Wife of the State House Member representing Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara State Constituency, Deaconess Idongesit Jerry Otu, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District PDP Women Leader, Obongawan Abigail Akpan, the Supervisors for Education, Health and Women Affairs with other dignitaries.
Mrs Eno James who led the State Gender-Based Violence Management Committee, took quality time to sensitize and enlighten the Students, teachers and women who were present at the event on gender-based violence.
