GOV ENO APPROVES TURNAROUND MAINTENANCE OF IBOM GOLFCOURSE AS YULETIDE APPROACHES

The 18-hole Ibom Golf Course, is to wear a new look as Governor Umo Eno has approved a turnaround maintenance of the  facility as the yuletide approaches.

Disclosing this in Uyo recently, the State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Sir Charles Udoh said, the turnaround maintenance will bring back the lost glory of the Golf Course for the benefit of Golfers, Tourists and Visitors, as the number one golfer’s choice in the region.

Sir Charles Udoh said, the exercise will involve the tendering of the Golf holes and lawns, planting of grass and complete maintenance of the environment, to restore the spark from the greenery lush ambience, which usually attract holiday Seekers and tourists to the Ibom Golf Course and resort.

Already a highbrow Golf Course maintenance Company – the Equatorial Parks and Premises Limited, has been engaged by the State government to carry out the turnaround work of the facility, especially as the world is drawing near the yuletide, with anticipation for influx of people into Akwa Ibom for the Christmas Unplugged Season 2.0 celebrations.

According to the Tourism Commissioner, apart from the Golfers who will be enjoying their golf plays in well kept environment, visitors and tourists also take out time to stroll round the breathtaking ambience for relaxation and expressed deep appreciation to the award winning Tourism- oriented Governor, Pastor Umo Eno for investing in the turnaround maintenance of the Ibom Golf course.

It could be recalled that, various Golf Tournaments have been taking place at the Ibom Golf Course since its construction in 2007, which is one of the foremost tourist sites, attracting visitors to Akwa Ibom State.

With the turnaround maintenance of the Golf course, it is hoped that, a beehive of activities will be generated round the facility with its close proximity to the Ibom Hotels, the Ibom Marina Resort and the Slave Trade memorial park which harbours the 178 years old Slave masters boat – all  high class tourists  attractions in the State.
