GOV ENO TO HOLD FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY TOWN HALL MEETINGS IN SEPTEMBER …DIRECTS INFO, INTERNAL SECURITY COMMISSIONERS TO FAST TRACK DIALOGUE

In his bid to take governance to the grassroot and share with the plights of the people, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has disclosed plans to hold town hall meetings in all the ten federal constituencies from September this year.

The Governor has already directed the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong to work with the Commissioner for Internal Security and Waterways, General Koko Essien (Rtd) to ensure a successful hosting of the events.

The governor who disclosed this at a stakeholders meeting in Uyo also asked the Information Commissioner to make public a timetable for the Town Hall meeting.

Governor Eno’s announcement followed an appeal by the Chairman of the Civil Society Organisations Forum, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Pastor Harry Udo to make time and meet with the people periodically at the local government level in order to feel their pulse about his Administration.

Responding to the request, the governor said plans were already on the ground to hold town hall meetings in the ten federal constituencies of the State.

“You see, I understand the need for us to have a constant dialogue, to listen to our people, discuss and gauge our performance. I believe that the town hall that we want to begin in September will help us”, the governor said.
