GOV. ENO WARNS AGAINST POLITICIZING, LOBBYING AS MORE COMPASSIONATE HOME OWNERS EMERGE

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has warned against politicizing and lobbying for an ARISE Compassionate Home, emphasizing that beneficiaries of the initiative will continue to be independently chosen on grounds of need and compassion.

Handing over the fully furnished two-bedroom bungalow alongside 500,000 Naira business support fund to Mr Asifiok Ekpenyong Etim in Edem Ekom Village, Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, Gov. Eno represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong, described the intervention as timely.

The beneficiary, Mr Asifiok Etim, whose wife deserted due to his state of squalor, narrated his ordeal with homelessness, having a week ago completely lost the dilapidated thatched house that sheltered him and his daughters and thanked Governor Eno for coming to his aid.

Conveying the sentiment of Ibesikpo Asutan stakeholders, the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Linus Nkan, expressed gratitude for the Governor’s magnanimity expressing their commitment to supporting the ARISE Agenda beyond 2027.
