In line with the Agricultural Revolution component of the ARISE Agenda, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has disclosed plans to inaugurate a food security committee to facilitate its actualisation.
Speaking at the institution of a Professorial Chair in Soil Science in honour of Professor Trenchard Ibia who recently retired from service, by the department of Soil Science and Land Resources Management, University of Uyo, Governor Eno noted that professionals such as Prof Ibia will be assembled in the committee to ensure desired result.
He congratulated Prof Ibia on the honour done him by the Department of Soil Science and Land Resources Management and indeed the University of Uyo, describing it as well deserved.
The Governor recalled with appreciation the role played by Prof Ibia during his governorship campaign, stressing that he (Ibia) played a major role in his economic development blueprint, the ARISE Agenda.
While expressing delight as an ambassador of the institution, he pledged to maintain good partnership with the University of Uyo and other professionals in the development of Akwa Ibom State.
