As part of his preparations to make the upcoming yuletide most memorable in Akwa Ibom State, the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has given December 2025 as timeline for inauguration of the world-class Ibom Arise Resort project.
Governor Eno, who disclosed this when he fielded questions from Government House Correspondents, noted that the multi-faceted recreational facility will be managed by a private recreation firm of international standard.
Leading a team of investors on a tour of the Resort, he said, “This project will be commissioned before or about December this year. And, even if we finish within the timeline, we have to first test run it.
“We have to be sure we are ready to take in guests; we have to put in the management contract because it is going to be managed by a private organization of international standard that must have won the bid.”
According to the Governor, all the necessary operational mechanisms must first be put in place before the facility kick-starts its full operations in December to make a most eventful and exciting Christmas celebration for Akwa Ibomites.
“All that must be in place, and about December it’s ready for Christmas, for our kids, families, and for our people to have quality relaxation and enjoy the resort.
On the whole, I can confidently say that judging from the quality and level of work so far accomplished, Akwa Ibom is ready for the world,” he added.
Registering his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer and President of Digital Learning Network of Chicago, USA, Mr. Thomas Larmena, expressed excitement over the breathtaking aerial view and standard of facilities put up at the resort.
Mr. Larmena commended Governor Eno for the impressive work done at the erstwhile 70 hectares once dreaded gully erosion site having being transformed to a spectacular, world-class tourism and recreation delight, and assured the Governor of his organization’s readiness to partner with the State Government to promote more development strides of the administration.
The Ibom Arise Resort, a luxury destination, boasts of high class, pleasurable facilities like a hybrid lake, swimming pool, floating bars, a sports arena, a football field, apartments, a banquet hall, and a mini-shop complex.
Accompanying the Governor on the facility tour were; Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Udeme Otong; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; Executive Assistant/Chief Delivery Advisor, Mr Aniefiok Johnson, members of the State Executive Council, captains of industry, members of the political class, and others.
