Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has presented a fully-furnished two-bedroom bungalow and 500,000 Naira business support grant to Madam Nyong Etim Okon, a Widow from Ikot Abiya Oku Iboku in Itu Local Government Area.
Represented by Commissioner for Power, Engr. Camillus Umoh, the Governor applauded the widow’s resilience and faith, while describing the Governor as a leader who cares for the people, and conveyed the administration’s commitment to developing the area.
In a project overview, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Humanitarian Services, Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, described the beneficiary’s previous living conditions as “terrible” and highlighted the features of the new compassionate home, including solar-powered lighting and borehole, external kitchen, and furniture.
Stakeholders, including the Immediate past Commissioner for Special Duties Engr. Bassey Okon, former Secretary to the State Government, Obonganwan Grace Ekong, commended the Governor’s compassionate disposition and numerous good works, praying for God’s continuous blessings on him and his family.
The beneficiary, Madam Okon, a widow of over two decades with five children, was visibly in tears expressing her gratitude and praying for God’s unending blessings and protection for the Governor.
