NDLEA uncovers tramadol concealed in black soap containers bound for UK

By Hannah Johnson

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has intercepted a consignment of tramadol pills concealed inside black soap containers in an attempt to smuggle the illicit drugs to the United Kingdom.

The agency disclosed the seizure in a narco-trend update shared by its Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, on his X handle on Sunday.

According to the agency, the concealment was uncovered by NDLEA operatives in Lagos during a routine interdiction operation.

Babafemi reiterated the agency’s warning to members of the public against accepting parcels or luggage from other people without knowing their contents.

“It’s difficult not to continue to warn people that they should avoid accepting any parcel or luggage from anyone,” he wrote.

Explaining the reason for the warning, he added, “Why? Here are pills of tramadol buried in black soap containers to get them to the UK, but the concealment was discovered by ndlea_nigeria officers in Lagos”
