NiDCOM Boss Hails Ejimofor Anosike’s NBL Sweep

The CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Nigerian basketball star Ejimofor Anosike on winning the 2026 Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) title.

In a statement issued by the Commission’s Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa described Anosike’s feat with Hong Kong Bulls as historic.

She noted that he has become the first player in the league’s history to sweep all major accolades. Anosike’s achievements include winning the 2026 NBL Championship and Finals

He also emerged as the Regular Season Scoring Leader in 2024, clinched the Best International Player award in 2025, earned two All-Star selections in 2025 and 2026, and won the All-Star Slam Dunk Contest in 2026.

Dabiri-Erewa commended his consistency, discipline, and exceptional performance, stating that his accomplishments reflect the resilience and excellence Nigerians continue to demonstrate on the global stage.

“Anosike’s journey is a powerful testament to hard work, focus, and determination,” she said.

“His record-breaking accomplishments have not only brought pride to Nigeria but have also set a new standard of excellence in international basketball.”

The NiDCOM boss added that Anosike’s success serves as an inspiration to young Nigerians, particularly aspiring athletes, urging them to pursue their dreams with dedication and confidence.

She reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to celebrating Nigerians in the diaspora who continue to make the country proud through exceptional achievements across various fields
