NiDO DIASPORA CHAMPIONS SECURITY, HONORS NIGERIA’S ARMED FORCES

The Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NiDO) Worldwide has reaffirmed its commitment to partner with Nigerian security agencies, supporting the federal government’s mission to safeguard lives and property.

Speaking during the organisation’s maiden global virtual meeting to commemorate the 2026 Nigerian Armed Forces Celebration Day, NiDO leaders emphasized their dedication to national security and the welfare of Nigerians both at home and abroad.

Chibuzo Ubochi, chairman of NiDO-Worldwide, expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun, for engaging with the diaspora during the event, represented by CSP Haruna Abdullahi, Kano State Police Command’s public relations officer.

“We in the diaspora celebrate and honor the men and women who defend our nation. Though we live abroad, we feel the impact of their sacrifices on our safety, dignity, and national pride,” said Mr. Ubochi.

In response, Mr. Egbetokun commended NiDO-Worldwide for its patriotic engagement.

“You are our eyes abroad, representing Nigeria everywhere. We value your contributions in ensuring that development reaches every corner of the country, and that security and safety remain paramount,” he said.

The event, jointly moderated by Vire Komolafe, chairman of the NiDO-Worldwide organising committee, and Abimbola Oluwasona, coordinating secretary of NiDO-Europe, also included a minute of silence to honor fallen heroes, reinforcing the diaspora’s enduring respect for Nigeria’s Armed Forces.
