A Nigerian engineer, David Obilor, has been conferred a Fellow of the National Institution of Professional Engineers and Scientists in the United States.
Obilor, who works with the Offshore Renewables Team at the American Bureau of Shipping in the US, received the fellowship’s certificate during the conference last week.
This was contained in a statement he made available to Diaspora Tales on Wednesday.
The Nigerian holds a Master of Science in Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Following his academic training, he received a conference award for his thesis research on energy-efficient heat exchanger systems by Texas A&M Energy Institute.
He serves as an expert judge for globally recognised STEM competitions, including the Space Center Houston Conrad Challenge and the Eco-Innovation Challenge.”
“Additionally, he was a TEX-E Fellow at Greentown Labs in Houston, an incubator hub for climate and energy entrepreneurship across Texas.”
“His work and research in renewable energy system design, integration, and commercial deployment align with national and international decarbonization targets, supporting global economic growth, a circular economy, and a sustainable energy transition,” the statement read.
