Nigerian shines, delivers valedictory speech in Russian after graduating from medical school with 4.90 CGPA

A Nigerian student, Dr Dorcas Akanbi, has graduated from a medical school in Russia with an outstanding 4.90 out of 5.00 cumulative grade point average, emerging as one of the institution’s best graduating students.
 
The newly inducted medical doctor shared the milestone in a post on X on July 3, expressing gratitude for her academic journey.
“I have FINALLY been inducted into the medical profession!!! From breaking news to viral moments. From Unilag to Russia, God did it! Dr. AKANBI D.E.,” she wrote.
 
In a follow-up post, Akanbi shared a video of herself delivering the valedictory speech in fluent Russian before fellow graduates, faculty members, university officials, family and friends.
 
The speech drew applause from the audience and has since attracted widespread admiration on social media, with many users praising her command of the Russian language and celebrating her academic achievement.
 
Responding to the outpouring of congratulatory messages, Akanbi wrote, “Thank you everyone. I am physically incapable to respond to every comment but I am grateful and honored to be a Nigerian and wear my identity proudly.”
 
Her achievement has been widely celebrated by Nigerians online, with many describing her success as inspiring and commending her for representing the country positively on the global stage.
