PASTOR PATIENCE ENO URGES AKWA IBOM ELDERS TO PRIORITIZE HEALTH

The wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, has emphasized the importance of prioritizing health among elderly citizens, aged 65 and above, during the May/June edition of the Arise Initiative For the Elders.

Speaking at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, Pastor Patience Eno encouraged the elders to maintain a healthy lifestyle through regular medical check-ups, balanced diets, and moderate physical activities suitable for their age.

She assured the gathering that the state government is committed to providing accessible healthcare services, including free medical check-ups and treatments, to elderly citizens under the A.R.I.S.E Agenda mantra of His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno.

The Arise Initiative For Elders, sponsored by the State Government, has disbursed stipends of N50,000 to over 1,200 elderly citizens in Akwa Ibom State, with 600 elders captured every month from the 31 Local Government Areas.

Coordinator of the Initiative, Mrs. Mercy Anietie Eka, commended the support of Pastor Patience Eno and Governor Umo Eno, whose leadership has brought unprecedented care and compassion to vulnerable populations.

Highpoint of the event featured presentation of cheques to all the beneficiaries by the Wife of the Governor and a cultural display by socio-cultural organization.

The event featured Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Umo Eno, Dr. Ini Adiakpan, Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Comfort Effiong Bob, Wife of the Political Leader of Uyo Senatorial district, Mrs. Enobong Mbobo, Honourable Commissioner for Water and Sanitation, Hon. Mrs. Anne Abraham, Coordinator Golden Initiative For All (GIFA).

Others including; Dr. Ndueso Ekwere, for CAN Chairman, Lady Emem Ibanga, Transition Committee Chairman of Nsit Atai, Hon. Mercy Bassey, Transition Committee Chairman of Mkpat Enin, Hon. Akon Michael, Transition Committee Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan amongst others.
