Just like Ibom Dialogue, this is another opportunity for the best brains in the power sector to light up our hope by not just deliberating on the power challenges, but proffering a lasting solution to power challenges in Akwa Ibom State.
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, P.hD has the political will to make the right investment in the power sector. He is interested in delivering a 24/7 power availability to Akwa Ibom people.

I am happy that one of the companies that are interested in not just attending the Power Summit, but investing in our Power Sector, XGT Smart Consults Limited, all the way from Lagos State, Nigeria, also made their way into the State yesterday. According to them, they are not ready to miss out on any of the programmes slated for the Power Summit. That informed their decision to travel to Akwa Ibom State a day before the power summit. Several other companies are in town for the epoch making event.
The level of interest that the Power Summit has successfully generated over time, underscores the importance of power to people, most especially in boosting the economic activities of the citizenry. Governor Eno is leaving no stone unturned in changing the narratives in the power sector.
Governor Eno’s intentional approach to meticulous execution of policies in the power sector, informed his convening of the Electricity Summit as a platform for experts, investors, regulators and key players in the power sector to interact and fashion a roadmap for affordable, reliable and available electricity for the people.
Governor Eno has kick-started a new electricity era for Akwa Ibom following informed policies in the power sector. Governor Umo Eno has already assented to the Electricity Law which holistically addresses issues of regulation, generation, transmission and distribution in the power sector. Akwa Ibom electricity market shall be open for solar, hydro, and gas to power renewable energy, attracting investors in the energy sector, expansion of electricity infrastructure and improvement of power supply including selling to neighbouring States or countries.
Akwa Ibom State Government is working very hard to get it right in the power sector. Therefore we needs the support of all and Sundry as we forge ahead.
