Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his commitment to serve the people of the State with love and empathy.
He spoke during a courtesy visit to him by members of the National Assembly Service Commission, led by its Chairman, Chief Saviour Enyiekere, at the Government House, Uyo.
He said since assumption of office, his administration has worked harmoniously with all stakeholders across party lines, stressing that Akwa Ibom is operating under the new catchphrase, “Akwa Ibom United.”
The Governor congratulated the Chairman on his recent appointment and subsequent swearing in, and also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment and assured him of his continuous support for all Akwa Ibom sons and daughters holding positions of responsibility both within and outside the State.
He appreciated Chief Enyiekere for leading his team on a retreat to the State, saying that the State has become a destination of choice for many organisations.
Governor Eno said tourism is one of the focal areas of the ARISE Agenda, adding that given its comparative advantage with unparalleled peace and security, Ibom Air, the ongoing ARISE Resort, the International Convention Centre and Hotels, the State is ready to welcome the world for holidays, retreats as well as Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions.
The Governor whose leadership disposition is inclusivity assured of continuous partnership with relevant stakeholders across the State irrespective of political differences, which he said has been a very key ingredient in his administration.
In his address, Chief Enyiekere attributed the commission’s decision to host a four-day Induction Retreat in Akwa Ibom State to the state’s prevailing atmosphere of peace, security, and good governance.
He noted that the serene environment and stability witnessed across the State does not only reflect the Governor’s commitment to peace but also stands as a testament to his leadership style, which emphasizes unity and continuity.
Enyiekere further stated that the commission is focused on strengthening legislative bureaucracy at the federal level and is seeking strategic partnerships with State Houses of Assembly and their Service Commissions nationwide and emphasized that such collaborations are essential for creating synergy that will deepen democratic governance and improve legislative outcomes for the people.
While congratulating the Governor on his second anniversary with impactful strides, he assured that the commission has agreed to host most of their events in Akwa Ibom.
