AKWA IBOM SET TO RECEIVE 2 AIRCRAFTS, COMMENCES 18 STOREY BUILDING IN LAGOS

The Akwa Ibom State Government is awaiting the arrival of two new CRJ aeroplanes to add to the fleet of the Ibom Air.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/ CEO) of the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation AKICORP Mr Imo-Abasi Jacob gave this hint today during the ‘happy hour’ celebration of the Corporation.

The excited Mr Jacob said that the new additions would be the fourth that the airline would have added so far in 2024.

Discounting the rumours surrounding the ownership of the airline, the MD affirmed that the Ibom Airlines was solely owned by Akwa Ibom State Government.

In addition, he intimated that the State Government was scheduled to perform the groundbreaking of the much talked about 18 storey building in Lagos on Wednesday.

He said that the building which promised to be a state of the art hosting 32 apartments would mark the launch of the Akwa Ibom State Government into real estates.

Describing real estate as a viable investment, Mr Imo-Abasi Jacob said that Akwa Ibom was blessed with a Governor who was mindful of investing the fortunes of the State in ventures which would yield generational returns.

He said that AKICORP was humbled to be accorded such trust and pledged the Corporation’s commitment to live up to the expectations.

The MD/CEO said that the milestones called for a celebration and that the happy hour was an apt platform to do so. The happy hour is a monthly gathering of staff of AKICORP, which holds on every last Friday of the month at the conference room. Birthdays of staff and other such events that took place that month are usually celebrated on this day.
