GOV. UMO ENO INAUGURATES ROAD PROJECT IN NEW YENAGOA CITY

As part of the fifth anniversary celebration of Senator Douye Diri administration in Bayelsa State, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has inaugurated Road Two, a dual carriageway in the New Yenagoa City.

During the inauguration today, Governor Eno described his Bayelsa State counterpart as a pragmatic leader who is changing the developmental narrative of Bayelsa State and applauded him for his commitment to executing quality projects

He noted that Governor Diri’s efforts are consistent with those of his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) colleagues in the South-South region and other parts of the Country.

The inaugurated road is a 2.1km dual carriageway with 7.3 meters width on either side and 1.3m shoulders on both sides of the driveway. The road is expected to create access to the new commissioners and legislators quarters, accelerate development of residential buildings, and add to the aesthetic value of the state.

Speaking earlier, Governor Douye Diri of Baylesa State said his commitment to execute projects was to show that the state’s terrain was a blessing rather than a curse.

He appreciated his Akwa Ibom counterpart for the solidarity, saying both states have a long-standing relationship. and described Akwa Ibom as State with one of the best roads in Nigeria.

“We have come a long way as brothers in this same terrain, which some see as a curse. But we like to prove that this terrain is not a curse. Rather it is a blessing to the people and to our region.”he said.
