The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Economic Planning and Development, chaired by the Honourable Member Representing Eket State Constituency Hon. Nsidibe Akata PhD, has announced a public hearing on the 2025-2027 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
The public hearing, scheduled for Thursday, 29th August 2024, at 10:00 am, will take place at the Old Chapel, AKHA Complex, Sir Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.
According to the Committee, the public hearing aims to engage stakeholders and solicit input from the general public on the proposed MTEF, which outlines the State’s economic priorities and expenditure plans for the next three years.
Hon. Nsidibe Akata PhD, Chairman of the Committee, emphasized the importance of citizen participation in the budgeting process, saying, “We want to ensure that the MTEF reflects the needs and aspirations of our people. We encourage all stakeholders to attend and contribute to the discussion.”
The public hearing is expected to attract representatives from various sectors, including civil society organizations, private sector operators, and community leaders.
