EID-EL-KABIR: GOV. ENO REITERATES COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE

 

… Presents Sallah Gifts to the Muslim Community

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance as he felicitates the Muslim community in the State on their 2024 Eid-El-Kabir.

The State Chief Executive registered his felicitation when he presented Sallah gifts of 2 cows, 20 rams, 200 bags of rice and other items to the Muslim community in Uyo, as part of celebrations marking this year’s Eid El Kabir, where he emphasized that his leadership style is one based on the principle of inclusivity.

The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, said he understands the significance of the season in the Muslim community and has chosen to celebrate with them.

He noted that the gesture is a continuation of his long-standing practice of supporting diverse communities, predating his entry into politics.

“This is not politics, this is Pastor Umo Eno’s character, and he will continue to support you even after his two terms by the grace of God” he said.

He noted that Eid-El-Kabir denotes sacrifice, faith and obedience to the will of the Almighty, and urged the Muslim faithful to reflect on the essence of the occasion and pray for the continuous peace in the State and country at large.

On his part, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Non-Indigene Affairs, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbola, commended the Governor for his people-inclusive governance style, noting that he has exceeded expectations in his first year in office.

The Leader of the Arewa Community in the State, Alhaji Hassan, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his support and promised the continued backing of the Arewa community to the administration.

The event which was attended by Arewa and other Muslim Communities also had in attendance the HSA on Humanitarian Services, Mrs Ime Essien, SA on Humanitarian Services, Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, PA on Humanitarian, Mrs Mfon Israel amongst others.
