It was an inspiring worship service as friends and associates join worshippers at United Evangelical Church, Surulere, Lagos for a special service tagged Friends and Hymns Service.
Immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Deacon Udom Emmanuel,CON, was among several church worshippers, business and political associates to the service.
Apostle Joshua Selman, founder of the Eternity Network International, who delivered the homily at the service harped on the fact that, Success is based on five key principles.
He identified God as the foundation of any good success and frowned at those who seek to use God as a ladder to seek fame or only when they are in trouble.
He also maintained that the quality of a man’s life is a direct reflection of his belief system and warned people against allowing their cultural or sociological background to negatively impact their relationship with God.
The man of God posited that the power of value and productivity was of essence in the ladder to success, which means that for one to be sought after, he must possess the ability to solve problems or skills to add value to a system.
Apostle Selman also harped on the advantage of strategic relationships, insisting that to be successful, one needs to have a relationship with people who can lead him up.
“Don’t trivialize the gratitude you should show to a benefactor.
“Always show appreciation to your benefactor as ingratitude detaches a man from favour. Be humble like Jesus at the wedding feast, and learn to sit at the back because when the wine finishes, they will look for you”, he added.
To crown it, the homilist confirmed the need for anointing from God and insisted that only the unwise lives as if there is no God.
Harping on the need for continuous spread and growth of the work of spreading the Gospel, Mr Udom Emmanuel urged his friends and other guests to the ceremony, to support the fund raising for the expansion of the Church.
“You may not be able to go to those remote places to preach, but you can encourage those who are there in the field with your support.”
He explained that the essence of the Hymns and Friends Service was for members to invite their friends to join in fellowship and share in the blessings of God’s inspirational blessings.
He expressed the need to spread ensure that the new church springing up at Mowe is able to have a building of its own.
“At the moment the Church in Mowe is still hosted in a school hall. But with all of us here today, the members there should be able to have a befitting worship center”, Mr Emmanuel said.
The former Akwa Ibom Governor thanked the Apostle Selman for accepting to come and break the bread of life in the congregation and prayed for greater anointing on him for more spiritual uplifting of people across the world.
