EX GOV EMMANUEL PREACHES LOVE, SUPPORT FOR GOV ENO …alerts on political ‘jackals’ lurking for spoils

Immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel says he will continue to pray in support of the success of Governor Umo Eno- led administration in Akwa Ibom State.

He has warned as efforts in futility, all attempt at polarizing the State in the name of politics.

The former Governor who was worshipping at a Christmas Service in United Evangelical Church (founded as Qua Iboe Church), Awa Iman, said all that was needed was prayer and support for the Governor to continue delivering on his mandate for the people.

Mr Emmanuel who was accompanied by his wife and other members of the family, maintained that some politicians believed in creating artificial political crises for their selfish gains, but would fail woefully in their brash attempt to factionalize the ruling party in the State.

“There is nothing like Udom’s camp and Umo Eno’s Camp. We have only one State and one sitting Governor who is also the leader of the State, and our duty is to pray for him to succeed.

“Some people behave like jackals. Jackals wait until when the Leopard or other predators hunt a prey, they will then launch and chase away the Leopard to take the spoils.

He referred the ‘political jackals’ to
Genesis 15:11, “when the vultures came to eat the carcass of the sacrifice, Abraham drove them away.”

He advised the youths to be vigilant and protect public facilities within their area, as those utilities were meant for their own good.

He expressed happiness at the qualities of songs rendered by the various choirs and announced sundry support packages for them.

He announced another round of empowerment schemes for the young people in the church, and urged the Pastor to organized the scheme so that beneficiaries will be able to also empower others.

The resident minister of UEC, Awa Iman, Rev Titus Akpan, who preached on Love as the essence of the season, maintained that love drove Christ to leave his throne of glory, to venture into the act of saving mankind.

Also speaking at the occasion, Chairman of the Church committee, Elder Essien Essien, thanked Mr Udom Emmanuel and his family for their act of benevolence to the less privileged and to the Church, which pre-dated his tenure as Governor and which has been sustained well beyond his tenure in office.

A prayer session conducted by the national Chairman of United Evangelical Church, Rev Dr. Samuel Ebukiba, saw prayers offered for Governor Umo Eno, the State and the country.
