In the vibrant region of Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, Pastor Patience Umo Eno stands as a beacon of compassion and dedication. Fondly known as “Eka Iberedem Akwa Ibom,” which translates to “Mother and Strong Pillar of Akwa Ibom,” she has become a symbol of hope and an embodiment of selfless love. Her life and work have touched countless lives, earning her a revered place in the hearts of many.
Born and raised in Akwa Ibom, Pastor Patience grew up in an environment that valued community and mutual support. From an early age, she demonstrated a profound empathy for those in need, a trait that would define her life’s journey. Her parents, devout and charitable, instilled in her the importance of service to others, shaping her into a person driven by the desire to make a difference.
Pastor Patience’s commitment to her community and Akwa Ibom as a whole is most evident in her works and good hearts toward the people. She established a foundation Golden Initiative For All (GIFA) aimed at engaging in humanitarian activities such as providing shelter, food, and education etc to improve the lives and livelihoods of the poor and the vulnerable in the society as it is a global phenomenon. Her home became a safe and little haven for many, a place where they could find not only physical sustenance but also emotional and spiritual support. Her feeding program, which began modestly, now feeds hundreds of children daily, ensuring that no child in her care goes to bed hungry.
Understanding the transformative power of education, Pastor Patience also took it upon herself to sponsor the schooling of numerous children. She provided uniforms, books, and tuition fees, and others to enabling them pursue their dreams without the burden of financial constraints. Many of these children have gone on to excel academically and professionally, a testament to her unwavering belief in their potential.
In addition to her work with children, Pastor Patience is a fervent advocate for women’s empowerment. She recognized the unique challenges faced by women in her community and initiated vocational training and financial empowerment programs to help them acquire skills and achieve financial independence. Through these programs, many women have started their own businesses, gaining confidence and a sense of agency.
Healthcare is another area where Pastor Patience has made a significant impact. She organizes regular medical outreach programs to care for the elderly and childdren, bringing essential health services to underserved areas. These initiatives include free medical check-ups, vaccinations, and health education, significantly improving the overall health and well-being of the community.
One of the most inspiring aspects of Pastor Patience’s work is her ability to mobilize others. Her dedication and passion have inspired many in her community to join her cause. Pastor Patience is also a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family, deeply influenced by her values, actively participates in her philanthropic activities. Together, they continue to spread her message of love and compassion, ensuring that her legacy of service lives on.
Pastor Patience Umo Eno, known as “Eka Iberedem Akwa Ibom,” truly embodies the spirit of selfless service and love. She’s married to one(1) man, pastor Umo Eno the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, the king of her heart and has Six (6) children and Nine (9) grandchildren.
Her life’s work is a powerful reminder of the difference one individual can make. Her heart of gold continues to shine brightly, illuminating the path for many and proving that with kindness and dedication, one can indeed change the world.
