PRESIDENT TINUBU’S COMMENDATION, A CALL FOR MORE WORK – GOV ENO

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has said that the recent commendation on him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a call for more work.

Governor Eno stated this while speaking with Government House correspondents at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, upon his return to the State from Abuja, where he had joined the President at a special dinner to mark the 2024 Democracy Day.

It would be recalled that President Tinubu while delivering his speech at the dinner, commended Pastor Eno and some other Governors for their impactful leadership and decision to work across party lines in the interest of the nation.

‘We include in our National Anthem, the essence of service. I see many governors both live and on TV, serving their people. They belong to other parties and many of them are here tonight; thank you, Governor Eno, of Akwa Ibom,” President Tinubu had said.

Governor Eno expressed delight over the President’s acknowledgement of his efforts and the open commendation, despite being of a different political party.

He described President Tinubu as a President for all and said his kind word was a call to work even harder for the progress and prosperity of the Akwa Ibom people.

In his words, “The President is president for all, he oversees the nation and sees what each state is doing, but the point to be made here is that I believe it calls for more work. It’s time to fold our sleeves and continue to work for the Akwa Ibom people.
It is gratifying to know that people appreciate the very little you’re doing to affect lives and we pray God to give us grace to continue to serve the Akwa Ibom people in humility.”

Speaking further, he assured everyone that his administration will sustain the servant-leader approach of being available to the people at all times, listening to their yearnings and making efforts to meet them at the points of need.
