The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirms its commitment towards providing free application documents to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) as part of efforts to promote equal access to higher education. The gesture aims at supporting candidates with disabilities who aspire to pursue tertiary education through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, restates this commitment during a meeting with key stakeholder. He emphasizes that the initiative aligns with JAMB’s longstanding policy of catering to the welfare and educational needs of candidates with disabilities through inclusive measures.
As in previous years, the free application forms for the 2026/2027 UTME will be processed through the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG). Beneficiaries include not only visually impaired candidates but also individuals with Down Syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Meanwhile, JAMB has temporarily suspended the selection of examination towns for candidates registering for the 2026 UTME in Ekiti State. According to the Board, the suspension is to allow for the restructuring of examination towns to ensure centres are closer to candidates, thereby reducing transportation challenges on examination days.
